What is the IP address of the camera, so we can ping it to make sure it is working?
The computer gives the camera the next address after its own when it boots (192.168.0.6 after a computer at 192.168.0.5). A camera that never booted has no address to ping.
The camera is assigned an IP address by the computer when it boots: the next one in sequence after the computer's own. With the computer at 192.168.0.5, the first camera boots as 192.168.0.6. If the camera does not boot, it is never assigned an address and cannot be pinged.
To check the camera's address, open Camera Settings; the IP is listed under the Setup tab. For easier troubleshooting we recommend the standard IP scheme in the networking quick-start guides: Windows 11 or Windows 10.
