What is the most current version of FinishLynx, and should I upgrade?
The current release is always a free download from the Software page. Note your serial from Help | About before you upgrade, and try a new version before the season rather than at a meet.
The current release is always free to download from Software, and what changed in each version is in the release notes.
Before upgrading, open your current FinishLynx, go to Help | About and write down your serial number; you will enter it again during the install. Install into the same C:\Lynx folder as your existing copy, and plug-ins that were already installed don't need reinstalling.
It is worth staying current so you do not miss features that could improve your events. Releases usually land in November and December, so check before the indoor season and give yourself time to try the new features without competition pressure.

- How do I move FinishLynx and my plug-ins to a new computer? — Record every serial from Help | About on the old computer, install the current FinishLynx on the new one with the FinishLynx serial, then run each plug-in's own installer with its serial.
- FinishLynx asks for a serial number again after an update. What do I enter? — Read the prompt: it names the serial it wants. A built-in plug-in (Remote Control, Data Port) is removed with its uninstaller in C:\Lynx; the main serial coming back means it wasn't accepted, and Help | About says DEMO.
- Will my older camera work with the latest FinishLynx? — Yes. Every camera, however old, works with the most recent FinishLynx, so there's no need to install an older version.
