"No cameras enabled" when capturing
"No cameras enabled" means no camera is set to capture. The camera list on the Hardware Control main screen shows each camera's Capture setting, Yes or No, and at least one camera needs Yes.
How to fix it
Turn capture on for the camera
- Open the Hardware Control window (the first screen when FinishLynx opens, or the Window menu)
- In the camera list, look at the camera's Capture column to see whether capture is on
- Right-click or double-click it to switch it to Yes. There's no need to open Camera Settings
- Go back to the event and capture again
Switching cameras between events
The same column is how you choose which cameras capture for each event, for example a sprint finish camera and an oval finish camera at one meet. Before each event, right-click or double-click the Capture column to set the cameras you want to Yes and the others to No. With none set to Yes, you get the "no cameras enabled" error.
The Multiple camera systems page of the manual explains how FinishLynx handles several cameras.
Good to know
FinishLynx finds the cameras when it opens. A camera that wasn't connected and loaded then can't be set to capture until it loads.
