Rain, weather and storage

The Infield, 360 and Portable Displays are all rated IP65 on the LED front and IP54 on the back, so the face handles rain but the rear connections are less protected. Each display comes with a cover or case for the parts that need it.

How to fix it

Use it in the weather

  • Light rain and splashes on the front are fine. Shelter the rear connections in heavy rain, since the back is only IP54.
  • 360: put the LED Sending Box in the supplied weatherproof box. The long signal cable has a weatherproof XLR-RJ45 connector.
  • Portable Display: the package HDMI cable (HDMI-05M-WR) and power cord (USPwr25-WR or EuroPwr25-WR) have water-resistant connectors. Use those ends at the display.
  • Operating temperature is -20 to +60 C for the Infield and Portable Displays and -50 to +50 C for the 360. Operating humidity is 10 to 90 percent RH for the Infield and Portable Displays.

Cover it, case it and move it

  • Infield display: fit the removable black vinyl cover over the rear of each display. The optional wheel assembly (2- and 3-sided) makes it easy to move within the infield or between events.
  • 360: use the removable vinyl cover over the top, and the included wheeled storage case for transport.
  • Portable Display: the package includes a travel and shipping case (Port_Dsply_CS), and the unit has two handles for carrying.
  • The ratings are in the datasheets: Infield display, 360 display, Portable Display.

For panels damaged by water or in transit, see Damage. The Portable Display's rain notes are also in Lynx Portable Display.
