Why can't I connect to the Access Point (AP) with my FieldLynx device?
The AP from Lynx is labeled with its details: an address in the 192.168.0.3x range and the SSID Lynx. Each FieldLynx unit needs its own static IP in that range; ping the AP from the wired network first.
Every Access Point bought from Lynx is labeled with the details for your wireless setup. The IP address is in the 192.168.0.3x range, and the SSID is normally Lynx, which is the network name you should see broadcast. Each FieldLynx unit needs its own static IP in the same range as the AP.
- Ping the AP from one of the computers on the wired network.
- Check the IP address of the FieldLynx device (192.168.0.3x).
- Search for the Lynx SSID with the wireless card.
- Connect to the Lynx network.
If any step fails, have your equipment in front of you when you ask Lynx support. If the AP came from another supplier, keep its manual handy, as we may not know it.
