FinishLynx says "This result is not in the start list" when I assign a lane. Why?
The athlete isn't in the loaded start list, or the event's Identify By setting doesn't match what you're typing. Reload the start list from the meet software, or add the athlete by ID.
If FinishLynx says this when you type a lane number for an athlete who is in the start list, check the Identify By setting first: see Times not assigning to lanes.
If the athlete really isn't in the start list, there are two ways to get them in:
- Reload the start list. Add the athlete in the meet software and update the start list, then in FinishLynx click the Change Start List icon just above the Results zone and click OK to reload the current event.
- Add them by ID. If the meet uses athlete IDs, add a new result line, click in the ID field, type the athlete's ID (bib) number and press Enter. FinishLynx fills in the other fields from the lynx.ppl file.
