Why aren't the athlete names loading into FinishLynx events?
FinishLynx isn't reading the folder your meet software writes to. Point the Input and Output Directory in File | Options | Database at the competition folder, then load the event again.
Make sure the database points at the folder where your meet management software saves the competition files. Open File | Options | Database and confirm the Input Directory and Output Directory both point to that competition folder (they should be the same path). If not, click Browse and set them.
You can also open the competition folder and confirm the files are being written (lynx.evt, lynx.ppl), then try loading an event again. Open events from File | Goto Event and Load Schedule, not from a blank File | New.
Still not working? Start lists not found walks through it, and Databases in the manual explains the setup.

- What are lynx.evt, lynx.ppl and lynx.sch, and where do they go? — The files every meet program exchanges with FinishLynx through one shared folder: lynx.evt is the seeded events (the only one required), lynx.ppl the athletes, lynx.sch the event order. FinishLynx writes a .lif back.
- HyTek says "Results file for event not found" or my results aren't reaching the meet software. What's wrong? — Both programs must use the same shared folder, and the event must be opened from Load Schedule, not File | New. A blank event saves a .lif with no event number, which Meet Manager can't match.
- FinishLynx says "This result is not in the start list" when I assign a lane. Why? — The athlete isn't in the loaded start list, or the event's Identify By setting doesn't match what you're typing. Reload the start list from the meet software, or add the athlete by ID.
