HyTek says "Results file for event not found" or my results aren't reaching the meet software. What's wrong?

Both programs must use the same shared folder, and the event must be opened from Load Schedule, not File | New. A blank event saves a .lif with no event number, which Meet Manager can't match.

FinishLynx and HyTek communicate through a shared folder: HyTek writes start lists to it and FinishLynx reads from and writes results back to the same folder. Check these in order:

  1. In HyTek, go to Interfaces | Photo Finish - FinishLynx File Sharing Mode | Update Start Lists, and note the folder next to Shared Location for FinishLynx Data.
  2. In FinishLynx, File | Options | Database: the Input Directory and Output Directory must both be that same folder. Many computers have more than one tfmeets folder, and pointing at the wrong one is the most common cause.
  3. Open each event from File | Goto Event and Load Schedule, not from a blank File | New. A blank event saves a .lif named only by a timestamp, with no event number, and Meet Manager then reports "Results file for event #, heat 1 not found" even though a .lif is in the folder.
  4. Save the event in FinishLynx, then in Meet Manager go to Run, select the event and heat, and click Get Times (F3). If you corrected the race afterwards, save it again and click Get Times again.

If Get Times brings results in tenths instead of thousandths, see Get Times gives tenths. How do I get thousandths? Settings inside Meet Manager itself are HyTek's software, so for those questions contact HyTek.
