Get Times gives tenths in my meet software. How do I get thousandths?
Set File | Options | Database | Time Precision to Thousandths, save the event again and get the times again. A race with a manual start is limited to tenths.
Your meet software shows the times FinishLynx writes in the .lif results file. Times come across in tenths when the Database Time Precision in FinishLynx is set too low, or when the race had a manual start.
- In FinishLynx, go to File | Options | Database and set Time Precision to Thousandths (recommended: it also lets the meet software break ties). Click OK.
- Save the event again so FinishLynx writes a new .lif file (File | Save, or File | Save LIF for the results only), then get the times again in your meet software.
- If the times are still in tenths, check the start. A race started with Event | Manual Start and the space bar, instead of a start signal from a sensor, RadioLynx or electronic gun, is limited to tenths of a second.
Change the precision on the Database tab only: setting the event or Results default precision to thousandths can make a scoreboard that shows hundredths display the wrong times. In HyTek, Ctrl-F3 in the Run menu shows the .lif's contents so you can see whether the file itself is in tenths. See Time precision & rounding in the manual.

- HyTek says "Results file for event not found" or my results aren't reaching the meet software. What's wrong? — Both programs must use the same shared folder, and the event must be opened from Load Schedule, not File | New. A blank event saves a .lif with no event number, which Meet Manager can't match.
- The wireless start won't work and the meet can't wait. What's the fallback? — Run a wired start for the rest of the session: connect the start sensor by cable to the camera or connection box, set the Inputs tab to match, and set the RadioLynx port to None.
