"All start sensors failed to arm" pops up when I open an event. What now?
FinishLynx can't see a start input it expects. Set both start tabs in Camera Settings to match how you really start races, even the one you don't use, then load the event again.
The pop-up appears when an event is loaded or created and a start input FinishLynx thinks should be active isn't set up or connected. Almost every case support sees is a settings problem.
- Open Camera Settings for the camera. On the Inputs tab, set the wired start sensor to match your start: Closed for the standard wired sensor, Open for a wired electronic gun, None if no wired start is used.
- On the RadioLynx tab, pick the Port by what is plugged into the camera, set it to be a Start Sensor under Setup, and uncheck Transmitter sends periodic status. If you don't use RadioLynx, set the Port to Off.
- Click OK and load the event again. Then press the signal button on the transmitter (or tap the wired sensor) and check that FinishLynx receives the start.
With more than one timer-enabled camera, check both tabs on every camera: a common cause is one camera set for wireless while the second is still set for a wired start. A fresh install doesn't carry over your old camera settings, so check them again after moving to a new computer. Using manual starts only? Set the start sensor to None. Using image or TOD starts? Set it to Open.
If races already ran with the error, their times show as time of day: open the event, click Event | Select Start… and choose the right start. See My results are in military time.

- Why do I keep getting an "Error arming event" message even though the RadioLynx is connected and working fine? — The wired start input is still on. Set Gun Sensor to None on the Input tab, then check the RadioLynx tab points at where the receiver is really plugged in.
- My results are in military time (time of day). How do I fix it? — No start is applied to the event. Pick the right start from the list of starts and apply it; for a saved event use Event | Select Start.
- The wireless start won't work and the meet can't wait. What's the fallback? — Run a wired start for the rest of the session: connect the start sensor by cable to the camera or connection box, set the Inputs tab to match, and set the RadioLynx port to None.
