The electronic gun flashes but the speaker is silent or too quiet. What do I check?
Too quiet: turn up the speaker's own volume (the Line In knob on the Electronic Start Plus speaker) and check the short aux cable to it. No sound at all: charge the battery and test another audio source.
- Too quiet: turn up the volume on the speaker itself (on the Electronic Start Plus speaker, the Line In knob). The wheel on the base of the gun only sets the headset microphone volume, so it won't make the gun louder. Check that the short aux cable labeled "Connect to Speaker" is plugged into the speaker's AUX or Line In port.
- No sound at all: check that the battery is charged, and test whether other audio sources play through the speaker.
- No gun sound on a PS78 gun: check the port on the base of the gun and its pins.
- Headset too quiet: adjust the small wheel on the base of the gun.
If the gun sound works but the megaphone's voice microphone doesn't, the microphone can be replaced. If you can't tell which part has failed, send the whole start system (gun, gun cable and speaker) in together so every part can be checked. For a gun that fires the speaker but not the camera start, see Using wireless RadioLynx.

- Is there a rain cover for the Electronic Start System? — No weather cover is sold for it. In heavy rain, cover it with something like a plastic bag.
- RadioLynx works most of the time but misses some starts. What do I check? — Recover the race with Repeat first. Then check the antennas, cable an electronic gun to the transmitter instead of using a sound sensor, tighten the input cable, run the paperclip test and charge the transmitter.
