Which Daktronics setup do I have

Daktronics boards connect to FinishLynx in a few different ways, and what HyTek does depends on the board. Find the setup that looks like yours, then follow its page.

How to fix it

Which setup is yours?

  • Football or track scoreboard with an All Sport 5000 console: FinishLynx sends the running clock and results to the console over a serial cable. See LED scoreboard (All Sport 5000)
  • Track scoreboard with 6, 8 or 10 lines of lanes and times: FinishLynx sends the running time and lane results over a serial cable, through a Daktronics signal converter. The settings are in the Daktronics guide below
  • Small portable timer in the infield (TI-2020, TI-2021 or TR-3101): running time only, from FinishLynx over a serial cable through a signal converter. The settings are in the Daktronics guide below
  • LED video display (video board): FinishLynx sends running time and results over the network. See LED video displays
  • LED message display (Galaxy or M3): FinishLynx sends running time and results over the network. The settings are in the Daktronics guide below
  • OmniSport 2000 console with track push buttons: Daktronics' own timing console runs the board. FinishLynx isn't part of this setup

Where HyTek fits

  • HyTek Meet Manager can't send data to a football or track scoreboard. On those boards, the clock and results come from FinishLynx (or the OmniSport console)
  • On a video display or message display, HyTek can also send start lists, results and team scores to the board, with its optional Alpha Scoreboard Interface (bought from HyTek)
  • HyTek connects to the FinishLynx computer over the network, through a shared folder: see HyTek

Every setup above is covered in Daktronics' Track & Field Interfaces for Scoreboards & Displays setup guide.
